Our Physicians

Ross Summers, M.D.
Dr. Summers was born and raised in Michigan and received his Bachelors Degree in Biology from Wayne State University. He attended Michigan State University College of Human Medicine where he obtained his Medical Degree. He completed his residency training in Family Practice at Oakwood Hospital in Dearborn, where he was Chief Resident. He is board certified in Family Medicine and is a member of the American Academy of Family Physicians and the Michigan State Medical Society.
Dr. Summers joined the Medical Clinic of Northville in 1997 where he took over the practice from the retirement of the founding doctors. He believes in taking the time to listen to his patients and has a special interest in Holistic and Integrative medicine. Dr. Summers is affiliated with Ascension St. Mary’s Hospital, Corewell Health and Trinity Health.

Cheryl Johnstone M.D.
Dr. Johnstone grew up in southern Ohio and obtained her Bachelors Degree in Microbiology at Ohio State University. She attended Wright State University School of Medicine where she received her Medical Degree. She completed her internship at The Christ Hospital in Cincinnati.
Dr. Johnstone has practiced medicine in Michigan for over 20 years and joined Medical Clinic of Northville in 2000. She specializes in, and is board certified in Internal Medicine. Dr. Johnstone is affiliated with Ascension St. Mary’s Hospital, Corewell Health and Trinity Health.

Shannon Schwab D.O.
Dr Schwab is from Minnesota where she received her Bachelors Degree in Biology from the University of Minnesota. She received her medical degree at Des Moines University and returned home to complete her residency at the Mayo Clinic. She stayed on as staff at Mayo Clinic practicing Family Medicine for an additional 14+ years.
Her approach to family medicine is centered around each patient/family she cares for. She tailors her approach to the individual needs of each person. She encourages her patient to take a part in their care and ask questions Together, creating an individual health care plan.
Dr. Schwab moved to Michigan with her family to be closer to her husband’s family. She enjoys exploring Michigan with all its outdoor activities including kayaking and hiking.

Mirella Ducu, M.D.
Dr. Mirella Ducu has been serving her patients for more than 20 years in the Metro Detroit area, in both outpatient and inpatient settings. She completed her medical residency at Beaumont Hospital in Royal Oak. She is certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine and was elected a Fellow of the American College of Physicians in 2001. Her medical degree is from the University of Medicine and Pharmacy in Bucharest, Romania. In her free time, she likes spending time with her three teenage children (and can even offer free advice).

Olivia Zander PA-C
Olivia grew up close by in Plymouth until she moved to west Michigan where she earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Biomedical Sciences from Grand Valley State University. She then went on to attend Michigan State University’s College of Osteopathic Medicine Physician Assistant Program where she graduated from in August of 2024. At graduation she was inducted into the Pi Alpha National Honor Society for Physician Assistants. Olivia values patient-centered care and will work with her patients to create individualized care plans tailored to their specific needs.
Olivia is happy to be back near her hometown with family and friends. When she is not in the clinic, she enjoys exploring her home state of Michigan. In the summers she loves taking trips up north for hiking and boating, and in the winters, she can be found skiing or snowboarding.
